Convention of States

The Convention of States Project exists to return decision-making power where it belongs — to the people and the states. Using Article V of the U.S. Constitution, COS is working to call an amendments convention focused on three goals: term limits on federal officials, a balanced federal budget, and limiting the power of Washington.

My involvement with Convention of States began in 2016, when I volunteered as a District Captain. The following year, I assisted as a volunteer during the successful passage of the original Texas COS resolution. My experience at state conventions and within the Republican Party of Texas eventually led to my role as Coalition Coordinator, where I worked to align COS issue advocacy with the Party.

I later served as Legislative Liason, building relationships with legislators to advance COS priorities. Today, I serve as State Policy Advisor, supporting the Legislative and State Leadership teams, including work on the 2025 passage of a clean COS resolution with no expiration date.

What I admire most about Convention of States is that it models how politics should be conducted. It is not about stabbing people in the back or trading personal insults. It is about having reasoned conversations on policies and issues, where disagreements can be honest but respectful. Politics is, at its core, about relationships. If you have good relationships, you have the potential to get things done. If you have bad relationships, you’ll never get anything done. Ask anybody on the Convention of States Texas team, and they’ll tell you my three key words: relationships, relationships, relationships.
